Forum Etiquette
One of the biggest problems on forums these days is lack of good forum etiquette. What some of the newer users of message boards don't understand is that forums have a very different environment from a chatroom, an instant message conversation, or even an email correspondence. Users of respectable message boards are expected to act maturely. And therefore, to help some of our newer users, I have created this guide to maintaining good forum etiquette.
These are just the basics of forum etiquette. You'll learn much more as you post and interact with the community. We won't chastise you for a mistake, but we expect you to do your best to follow this guide. Good luck!

- Use spelling and grammar correctly. Always capitalize the first letter in a sentence, even if you only have one to post. Always use periods. Capitalize only when necessary. Remember, all caps means you're yelling. Use commas and punctuation marks. The only excuse you can have for bad spelling or grammar is that you are not a native of an English-speaking country, and even then, you should do your best to learn English.
- Don't post just to up your post count. In fact, don't even pay attention to your post count. The senior members of a forum aren't respected because they have lots of posts, but because they are good contributors. You should strive to do the same.
- When you post, make it in-depth. Never just say "I agree" or "Good idea." Describe your idea. Say "I agree because..." or "Good idea. I think..." We want to hear a developed opinion, not just a short statement. Two or three word posts aren't really contributing anything to the forum.
- Know what you're talking about. Most forums are a community of experts and enthusiasts, and they love to discuss their passions. However, if you go into a topic you don't know much about and say something ignorant, it'll really tick them off. Especially if you stated it with authority.
- Never ask someone a question you can could easily get answered through a search engine or an encyclopedia. People expect you to find things out on your own instead of getting other members to do it for you. Laziness is frowned upon.
- Make sure never to turn a topic into back-and-forth conversations on random things. Topics are made for a reason - to discuss something. If you go into a topic and turn it into something completely irrelevant from what it was intended to discuss, you're only ruining it for the users who seriously want to discuss that topic.
- Don't just go through every topic in a forum posting in each one. Most people will find it hard to believe that you actually have something important to contribute to a topic if you post all over the place.
- Don't overdramatize unimportant things. There is no need to post a sorry thread if you broke a rule, or make a big deal when something doesn't apply to you. If you made a mistake, no big deal. If you follow these rules, people will forget all about it in a month or so.
- Don't freak out if no one responds. People have things they need to deal with outside of our home away from home. If you have a question and it has gone several days without being answered, kindly bump the thread up so others may see it.
These are just the basics of forum etiquette. You'll learn much more as you post and interact with the community. We won't chastise you for a mistake, but we expect you to do your best to follow this guide. Good luck!

Diablo II Realms Rules:
- Our realms are not to be use for commercial purposes. In other word we do not sell items for profit. Anyone doing this will be banned immediately.
- Being allowed to play here is a privilege, not a right. This is a family friendly realm and you are expected to treat every player and realm administrators with respect. We have junior players on our realm, some as young as seven years old who are the children of our older members. So please act accordingly at all times.
- We do not allow offensive character names, offensive language, racist, drug and sexual related expressions in chat on the realm. We reserve the right to delete any character name we deem to be offensive.
- We will not tolerate harassment or abusive behavior of any kind. This includes verbally abusing anyone, continually or any other abusive behavior. If you are being harassed in any way please report it to a realm admin, include what happened, and the person's character name and/or account name. A screen shot will also help. Every complaint is investigated.
- We do not allow the use of any unauthorised 3rd party hacks. We allow the use of MapHack Version 7.1 and 7.2, c3po, Stings and Mmap MapHack ONLY, and D2loader*. Any other 3rd party hack are not allowed. If you are found using any, it is a mandatory ban from out entire gaming network.
- Exploitation of bugs is not allowed. If you find any bugs you are required to report it to the bug report section of the tech support forum
- This is a game, it is played on a computer, over the internet. As such there are certain risks inherently associated with such play. Lag happens, Connection Interruption happen, other unforeseen events can cause any number of problems, including item loss. We are sorry if you experience item loss, we feel your pain but you will have to live with it.
- Any attack on the server or host computers will result in a mandatory ban and legal proceedings will be pursued where appropriate.
- Dueling Games:
Legitimate player versus player, (PvP) What does this mean? In order for PvP to occur both parties must agree to duel. You are not allowed to hostile another player unless they agree to a hostile first. Do not hostile a party, if you choose to duel make sure you are not partied with anyone else first, unless the entire party agrees to a hostile. If both parties agree to duel, then you must keep it clean, both players say go to start the duel. No town guarding. No naked killing when opponent retrieves his/her body. No 3rd party programs are to be used during a duel, with the exception of maphack. Any type of cheap (I.E. waypoint Hydra's ) dueling is prohibited.
If you go hostile with another player(s) without following the above rules and attack that player(s) you will get one warning, second time you will be banned from Apocalypse Realm. - Open Games/Open Cow Games:
In public games all players can pick up the drops. Open games are so anyone can join either to meet new players or play with a group and just have some fun. If you don't want to play this way, all you need to do is make a game with a password. In games with password everyone agrees to some sort of rules set by maker. To get drops on alternate magic find runs (IE; 1st run one player gets all drops, 2nd run the other player gets all drops and so on). If you don't want to share the drops, then make a password game and magic find on your own. - Rush Games Open Or With Password:
These games Must have Rush in the game name or they will be treated as normal open games. Rush games are not to be entered by other players to do magic find runs even if they are not password games. Anyone entering one of these games and doing magic find runs will be banned for a week. If the same player persists with this practice they will be banned permanently. To avoid any problems it is preferred that rush games have a password. - Hardcore:
Playing hardcore means you run the risk of permanent death. If you die on hardcore we will NOT bring back your character, not for ANY reason including, but not limited to "Bugs". If you can't accept this do not play hardcore. - Special Notes:
- Cow King Killing - You are never allowed to kill Cow King in a open game ever.
- If you are only in a cow game for the purpose of leaching experience and are not able to kill the cows, you are not entitled to any drops without permission from the other players.
- Dclone - Only one game per user may be made when attempting to spawn Dclone. This is to prevent an individual from gaining several Anni charms in one round, on Apocalypse realm he spawns in every hell game. Making multiple games may also prevent players from creating their own games. Abusing this may result in administrative action and/or disabling the ability to load more than one game at a time on the realm for everyone.
- We allow players to load up additional Diablo 2 windows for item transfer, cow game creation and self rushing only. Any attempt to gather additional Anni's from DClone or to gain more experience by this method will result in a 48 hour ban.
- Guilds - Any items deposited into the guild bank is the property of the guild. If you leave the guild for what ever reason you are not allowed to take items from that guild's bank without permission from the Guild Leader. If you do it will be deemed as stealing and you will be banned
- Everyone has a bad day we understand that. Intentional bad behavior is not tolerated and Realm Admins may at their discretion, warn, temporary and/or permanently ban depending on the degree of the behaviour.
If you consider someone in violation of this TOS, please ask them politely to comply. If they refuse, or continue to violate the rules, do not argue with them. Just inform an admin. You can either whisper an admin or pm via the forums. Screen shots are always useful. All reports of violations are taken seriously, and may lead to administrative action. Threats to someone that you "will have them banned" are NOT appropriate, and such threats may result in the person making them getting banned as well. NO ONE but Realm Admins has the power to ban anyone. Anyone caught impersonating an admin, or threatening to use connections they may or may not have with an admins will be dealt with appropriately.
